Here is a sample of the main therapeutic approaches I use. I welcome you to reach out to tell me a bit about what you’re looking for and to schedule your free consultation. Within the consultation, I would be happy to answer any questions you have about my approach, and we can both get a sense of whether we’re a good therapeutic fit! My aim is for the work we do to be collaborative, with a healthy balance of structure and flexibility based on your needs.
Relational Therapy
Together we can look at the significant relationships in your life, whether familial, romantic, or platonic, and identify existing relational patterns using attachment-based theory.
Narrative Therapy
What’s your story? What are the dominant narratives we hold about ourselves? Together we can identify the things that have influenced your story and how you understand yourself. This could included examining the influence of people, institutions, and systemic oppression.
Sex Therapy
Wanting to reconnect with your sexuality? Exploring parts of your sexuality for the first time? Newly navigating non-monogamy? Common topics also include desire discrepancy, painful sex, erectile and orgasmic difficulties, shame, and guilt. LGBTQ+ affirming, sex-positive, and kink informed.
Mindfulness & Somatic Practices
While talk therapy can be helpful, it can also be important to bring attention to the mind-body connection. How does your body communicate that it’s under distress? How can we process the feeling by bringing attention to the body, and not just addressing it cognitively? I aim to help clients connect to their body’ to read and process their physiological responses to distress.
IFS (parts work)
We as individuals have complex inner worlds and the different parts of ourselves have a unique dynamic. Get in touch with the parts of yourself that need to be heard. We can get to know these parts and what they have been doing to protect us along with their connection to our stuck points.
Trauma-Informed & Anti-Oppressive
I emphasize safety, collaboration, and empowerment in our sessions together. I hope to co-create a space where we can gently explore challenging topics at your own pace. My work is rooted in anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, intersectional feminist values. I approach my therapy practice with the critical understanding that the profession has the potential to harm by upholding colonial expectations of wellness and has historically done so.
